VEDRINE, Emmanuel W. [(•) BiyografiBiographieBiografía)] was born in L’Asile (Lazil), Haiti on January 15, 1959 in the communal section of Tournade & Mathias (opposite of the mountains Mòn Kabrit and Nan Solin). This valley was a small paradise in the past before they deforested all of Haiti to make charcoal to sell in Port-au-Prínce - a port that was once made for princes... Yes, his great historical novel, Sezon sechrès Ayiti, focuses on all these ecological problems of L’Asile and its communal sections to situate this fictional work where the story began to unfold.  -- E. W. Védrine was born not far from these 3 rivers: Depen (Des Pins)Mawo (Mahot) and Serpent which cause many problems when they overflow. These rivers form a single one (at Fond Tournade) not far from his house (located on a hill). This is where his unbilical cord was buried with a coconut atop (among two other coconut trees) facing these rivers, not far from the portal of his house with three urns near a crossroad divided into three paths... He survives Hurricane Flora, which hit Haiti on October 3, 1963 when a coconut tree broke his bed (•) He would bathe in these waters, splashing loudly, diving into deep pools to play spot (with mangoes) with boys in the area. Unfortunately, farmers in the area often pray God for rain in order to plant because there has never been any irrigation project to irrigate the land and garden still today... while the water of the rivers is being wasted and ends up in the sea (•) The boy left L’Asile  in September 1969 to settle in Port-au-Prince - when this capital was largely clean and safe. He lived next to the old Ciné Lido, near “Portail Léogane” (•) At the age of 17, he left Haiti aboard Pan-Am for the United States, where his parents lived (from 1974). He obtained his Alien Card («Green Card» so known at the time) upon his arrival at the U.S Immigration at MIA (Miami International Airport).
