Stephann Fontiny ELIDOR

S. F. Elidor was born on November 23, 2003, in Mare-Rouge, the second communal section, Môle-Saint-Nicolas (Northwest Haiti). This place is also called "Plateau Mare-Rouge" because it is located high up on top of the mountain. When going to Mare-Rouge, it feels like you are going up into the sky, as if you are climbing a mountain.

It is in this same locality the young boy grew up. It is also there he started his primary school at Collège Congreganiste La Fraternité. He left that school in seventh grade to finish his classical studies at the American Mission School, College Human Care Charisma.

Since he was very young, in preschool at the congregational school, the little boy already had the habit of reciting speeches at many big events that were held at the school. He would get a good understanding of poetry in the third year of high school. During that time, the teacher began teaching him literature, starting to talk about (the poet) Corioland Ardouin, and the poem "La brise au tombeau d’Ema" got the attention of the young man. From that moment on, he devoted himself to doing more research, reading, and poetry writing.

Love and writing ability would start to become visible, exactly on January 1, 2020, when he was the champion of a poetry competition organized by the Mare-Rouge Parish Library.

After High School, he went to Port-au-Prince to pursue university studies. It is a very common practice for people from the provinces (to go to Port-au-Prince for Higher Education), because there are no university campuses in other (geographical) departments where students would be enrolled there).

When S. F. Elidor arrived in Port-au-Prince, he already knew how to speak English, but that didn’t prevent him from attending Go On Institute (in the Delmas municipality) to improve his language skills. Rapidly, S. F. Elidor had already become an apprentice interpreter and a linguistics apprentice at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics (Faculté de Linguistique Appliquée / FLA), Stated University of Haiti).

A storyteller, poet and essayist, he has a truth to tell. A truth within him drives him. He knows deep down in his heart that he will be able to bring this truth out through writing. Among the projects he has completed is a novel titled Fatra (Trash). This fictional work talks about the problems of Djonn Larisi (a central character) encountered while trying to balance "school" and "love." Therefore, love is an important theme in the novel, which intertwines with poetry and philosophy. This novel has seventeen (17) chapters, with two hundred sixty-eight (268) pages (unpublished work, as of February 2026).
